The Social Council of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) has confirmed last Tuesday the adhesion of four new employers to its Chair of Management and Business Culture Grupo Segura, Gómez Acebo & Pombo Abogados, GD Energy Services and Seguros Unión la Alcoyana join the recent incorporations of Air Nostrum, Fundación IVO and Pinturas Isaval, which in turn make this Chair the only one in the whole of the UPV has the support and cooperation of 19 employers between companies and entities.

As a result of commercial relations established since last year, between Segura Group and the Chinese stamping company Jilin Jinghong, as well as different business trips made between the two companies, on Friday, October 21, 2016 it was proceeded the constitution the legal entity “SEGURA JINHONG JILIN Autoparts Co Ltd“, as a joint venture owned by the two industrial groups, in which Segura appears as majority shareholder.

With the establishment of the new legal entity “SEGURA JINHONG JILIN Autoparts Co Ltd “, the willing cooperation and development between the two groups materializes, and the international presence of Segura Group, which now has the necessary structure for consolidated manufacture and supply products to our customers, with production facilities in China, opening up numerous business opportunities and growth in an emerging area and high potential as the Chinese market.

Undoubtedly, this milestone is one of the most important events in the history of Segura Group, and from the Management we want to share this good news with our family of employees, encouraging all of you to work harder to consolidate and make this new stage of our history as a success.

President Francisco Segura, and Segura Group CEO Jorge Segura, attended the 40th Anniversary of Ford Spain, which celebrated the launch of its production plant in Almussafes. In the commemorative ceremony they were present the president of Ford Spain Jesus Alonso and the president of the Generalitat Valenciana Ximo Puig, besides prominent personalities Valencia. President of Ford Spain, highlighted the role of the company in the Spanish automotive sector and its relevance in the European automotive industry.

On October 19, coinciding with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the uprising of the Hungarian people against the oppression of pro-Stalinist government was inaugurated by the mayor of Madrid Mrs Manuela Carmena and the Ambassador of Hungary, Mrs Győri Enikő, of a monument in iron and stone fruit of the work of Hungarian artist who lives in Spain, Zoltán Fodor-Lengyel.
This monument  shows the courage and pride of the Hungarian people in their struggle for a universal ideal is freedom.
In her speech the mayor shoulder the universal values that unite people and spoke of “la liberte, l’égalité et la fraternité” present in the ideology of the French Revolution and how the Hungarian revolution had been worthy continuation of the ideology.
In the event the President of the Hungarian National Assembly, László Kövér, spokespersons and representatives of municipal groups of the City, the District Councillor, Marta Gómez Lahoz, and members of the Hungarian community in Madrid were present, among others. Special guest was present Tóth-Zele József, who was one of the “kids” participating in the 1956 revolution, forced to live abroad, specifically in Spain, wher ehe played for  Atletico Madrid and who from a distance spoke of those bloody events that cost the lives of many of his countrymen.
In case of GRUPO SEGURA, being a Spanish company with strong roots in Hungary, we were present to show our respect and solidarity at this emotional ceremony, full of connotations and gratitude to those young people in 1956 than their uprising helped create the foundation of European coexistence we enjoy today.

Last friday, September 30th, the Professional Association of Industrial Engineers of Valencia, granted the Nikola Tesla Awards, where Francisco Segura, President of the Company, was recognized by his professional and international career.

On September 22th took place the ceremony of the  20th anniversary of the Industrial Park Juan Carlos I of Almussafes, where since 1996 more than one hundred companies have developed, making the Park one of the main axes of the Valencian economy.

At the ceremony there were involved prominent personalities such as the President of the Generalitat Valenciana Ximo Puig, Director of Operations Manufacturing of Ford España Dionisio Campos, and the president of the Association of Owners and Users of the park Vico Valero, as well as Antonio González, Mayor of Almussafes.

The official ceremony opened with the discovery of a memorial monument in the park main access. The monument was an iron tree that symbolizes the perfect union between history and progress.

Segura Group was represented by several members of his management team, Jorge Segura (General Manager), Miguel Gutierrez (Operations Director), Jorge Olcina (Plant Manager), Tina Rautenstrauch (Plant Manager) and José Rubio (Projects Launching Director). Currently, the Industrial Park of Almussafes has 120 companies, most of which are related to the automotive sector.

At this time, the Industrial Park is facing new challenges to further develop the logistics flow. These include the land enlargement to allow more factories and companies, and the creation of a train station to improve communications.

On the last weekend of August our Szolnok (Hungary) plant hold the annual Family day, where more then 200 participants attended from the employees and their relatives at the Hungarian site. The participants either had a chance to take a tour in the factory and also to taste the famous Valencian paella which was cooked by our Spanish colleagues. The day started with a drop of humor, followed with sport activities like horseback riding and driving quad, and closed down with a professional flamenco dance. Thank you for everybody who participated to make each others’ day so unforgettable.

On June 26^th 2016 was published in Las Provincias newspaper the following article “El salto del pequeño taller a la gran industria”, about Grupo Segura, where it was explained the Company evolution, the growth achieved over the last years, as well as the coming internationalization projects in the short future, showing Segura Group as an entrepreneurial success history.

On 2016 June 16, organized by Price Waterhouse Coopers, Asociación para el progreso de la Dirección (APD) and the Asociación Valenciana de Empresarios (AVE), took place the conference about “Valencia 2020” where Grupo Segura participated as presenter, in the person of Francisco Segura, President of the group. During that day, the economic and competitiveness of Valencian companies prospects were analysed, as well as the most relevant strategic lines of growth and innovation that Valencia companies are focusing. On June 2nd we received at our headquarters in Paterna (Valencia) the visit of the General Consul of Hungary Mr Barnabás Kovács, and Mrs Éva Naszály Consul of economic and trade issues, the visit was part of the good institutional relations existing between SEGURA GROUP, the Embassy and the General Consulate of Hungary.

Both Mr Kovács and Mrs Naszály expressed their interest in the growth of the Segura plant in Szolnok (Hungary), and the next investments that the Group intends to implement in the plant. Both were pleasantly surprised by the information received, and expressed their satisfaction with the magnitude of investments as well as our growth strategy in Hungary; after the visit, the General Consul expressed his personal interest and commitment  in continuing to work on developing closer ties between the two cultures, and fosters  our relations with the Hungarian institutions at all levels.
